Happy October!

After a little rest from the August event series, I was able to revisit and tidy up some details with J.O. Connects, a short-term talent matching program that has been in the works for a while now. I am excited to formally share it with you!
With the uptick in freelance work and contract employment over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed talent and employers are spending the same amount of time and resources as if it were a full-time permanent role, with less ROI, among many other headaches.
By building a pool of diverse professionals from around the world, I aim to support both individuals and employers in creating connections for their short and long-term goals. From finalizing a job description to offboarding, employers can think of me as their advocate.
Across my communications career, I've not only played the role of a hiring manager, but I have also helped build equitable workplaces, equipped the workforce with tools and resources, and established relationships across sectors. I see an opportunity to be a connecting and adjoining piece to existing systems.
Are you looking for freelance / contract support this year or Q1 2026? Share your needs and learn more by filling out this brief form.
The talent pool currently includes the following skills:
Marketing, Communications Strategy
Social Media Management
Research, Copywriting, Copyediting, and Reporting

Special thanks to those who added themselves to the pool many moons ago. Are you an individual seeking freelance / contract opportunities and would like to be added to the pool? Fill out this form.

Every month, I share what I’ve been enjoying and bringing me levity. (I also share yours if you share it with me!)

This month’s pick: On the Calculation of Volume, Book I.
I recently joined a local book club, and while I normally gravitate towards non-fiction books, it has been such a nice retreat to escape with fictional stories. This book was a page-turner that made you question life values in a philosophical way.
What’s keeping you going these days?
